I am totally delighted with my new night gown. It's perfect for fall - not too heavy, not too light. It fits well and is sooo soft. I looked for quite a while as my old Orvis gown had seen better days or should I say nights.
Much nicer than first impression -
This grey nightgown material looked like a used athletic T-shirt, so I was disappointed at first. Actually its the perfect weight cotton. The 3/4 sleeves are practical for breakfast chores etc.. Most Orvis sleeves are too long. I usually wear a small, but medium fit me so well I ordered another one. I've realized the grey color is quite nice.
great gift -
bought for my 88 year old mother, she loves nightgowns and was pleased as punch with this one

I ordered both the blue and the gray options. I was surprised to find that the gray is as beautiful as the blue. The fit is pretty true but not overly generous. It is so comfortable and does not shrink in the wash. I love, love, love this nightgown. Thanks Orvis!

I originally bought the heather grey this winter. I chose an extra-small, as I really like a low-profile, not something with way too much fabric, and I still find it plenty roomy. I love the fit. I don't like pajamas, but find lately the nightgowns are mostly in pale pink, pale blue, or pale purple nylon and look like they would only appeal to the extreme elderly. This gown is hip! Clean lines, t-shirt-y but feminized by the tiny tucked ruffles. I recently left it while visiting family far away. Although it's summer now, our coastal summers are notoriously cool and foggy, not sleeveless weather. So I decided to look for it again and found it was on sale, and bought another just like it.. They are comfortable and cozy, slightly stretchy, and hit at about shin level, a little shorter after washing (I'm 5'5") but the overall size remains the same. Orvis, thanks for many comfortable nights' sleep and mornings of feeling pretty. I hope you will keep making these!
comfortable nightgown -
It feels very comfortable when wearing it; even though it is a knit one, it isn't too hot--I am wearing it now in summer and it is ok in the heat.
Size wasn't quite right -

I normally wear size 8 or 10, and I like things roomy. I ordered the medium, but it was less roomy than nightgowns I own in size small. Maybe the one I received was just mislabeled, but I returned it. Otherwise, it appeared to be well made and the fabric very nice for sleeping. My husband did NOT like the style, however.
Best nightgown ever -

Fits well--not snug but not too loose, thus comfortable when turning over in bed. 3/4 length sleeve warm but not too warm even under winter comforter. I am a size 12 and ordered the medium which fits perfectly even after many washings and I even place it in the dryer each time. Plan to purchase many more now that my search is over for the perfect nightgown for all 4 seasons.
great njghtgown -
I love this nightgown, it is comfortable and easy to wear. It washes very well. Being all cotton I did not put it in the dryer and it came out great.
