Great Jacket -
Quality and beauty wrapped up in one! This jacket will replace all others. I have found you an never have too many Barbou jackets! Leave them at the work, at the horse farm, the cabin or the beach and you'll always be covered! This is a must buy and I promise people will always notice you.
Great jacket -
Good fit, weight, and construction. I typically wear a medium but purchased a large due to availability. Sleeves are perfect length but a little large in the chest. Good looking jacket for everyday wear.

Coat is an XL. I own Orvis goods of all-sorts in size XL that are roomy and some have been altered to make smaller. This coat does not fit. It is much too small and I had to return it. Another way to look at it is that yet again I paid $20.00 to try on a garment that didn't fit. Won't happen again.
A most excellent jacket -

I purchased this on sale and with an extra 20% off on top of that which made the price quite reasonable. I bought the olive color after having purchased the Eynsford jacket in navy but without the 20% additional discount. I liked the first one so much that I bought the second one when they offered an additional 20% off. I have owned some Barbour pieces in the past and I assume this one will be as sturdy and as long-lived as those items have been but since I have only had the jacket for a couple weeks and it is not really cool yet. I think it looks great however, and it fits well. It is not particularly tailored but that's o.k. because I have enough room to wear a sweater. This jacket is fairly lightweight which is a plus although not as lightweight as the Barbour Liddesdale which I also own.
Omce again I found the Barbour sizing to be inaccu -

In addition to being too small, i found the fabric definitely "low market" - this must be this normally first-rate company looking for lower profile. Don't do it!!!

Was really excited about this catalog purchase. I love the fleece lined feel and extra warmth...Unfortunately the coat is cut too narrow in the shoulders and too short in the sleeves..I'm a 46-48 long, and ordered an XL...too tight in the chest and shoulders and way too short in the sleeves..OK, lets try an XXL, nope. Still tight in the shoulders, almost right in the sleeves, but the shoulder of the coat cuts across the top of my biceps...and its too big in the belly.. Returned for credit..Want to make it better? Have it cut for a normal, reasonably shaped man...Still an Orvis fan, but I'll find another jacket!

Soft and comfortable. Works well for cool spring or fall days. Has classic Barbour features and tailoring.
Since 1894, England's J. Barbour & Sons have produced clothes perfectly suited to life in the country. Their quality, durable clothing is cut for an active lifestyle and the fit varies according to each garment's design and purpose.
The sizing of Barbour’s clothing is divided into three segments:
In the case of Barbour outerwear, sizing takes into account the appropriate layers beneath. That means you do not need to order a size up for a comfortable fit.
