Bed is Okay but not a hit my dog -
I purchased this bed after another orvis memory foam bed I had selected was not as advertised. This bed is okay. The memory foam just makes the 4" thickness but it is way softer than a Temper-pedic. Grant it, it is half the price . Still not sure it is worth paying the sale price I paid for it though as my dog still prefers the two egg crate beds that only cost $60 total that I have to this considerably more expensive bed. The two egg crates were a combined 4" in heigth so they are somewhat similar. Hoped she would like it more so she would hang out in the living room more. The bolster is nice and seems well padded. Actually comes around a bit farther than I realized so that is another plus. Some of these types of beds are lacking when it comes to the bolster. May be alright for your dog if it is not too picky about where it sleeps.
Luxury for Old Bones! -

I've owned dogs all of my life and this is the first bed a dog has truly loved! My ten year old collie prefers this over the sofa! As arthritis has come upon her, daily medication and this bed has been the savior. She went from barely able to walk (try carrying a 75 lb dog up and down stairs four times a day) to running after her canine siblings as if she were a spring lamb! Also, it is the easiest and best washing cover I've ever dealt with. In the past, even with other high end dogs beds, I've had to wrestle the cover back onto the bed. This one washes like new and is so easy to put back on. I also lucked out buying it on a clearance price. I would now spend the asking price without a second thought. My dogs deserve the best bed and this is it!
FANTASTIC BED!! -
We bought this bed over seven years ago when our dog was first diagnosed with arthritis in her back, at the time my son was VERY jealous saying it was a nicer bed than he had. Our dog used this bed every night when sleeping in the room with us, she alternated between stretching out over the whole bed, and cuddling up against the bolster. Even after all these years this bed is almost like new, I loved that I could remove the cover and wash everything (I think my dog loved it too). This is the best dog bed I've ever purchased!!
I want one for me... -

Our dog is getting older and gimping up a little, and because he's too goofy to be spoiled and doesn't need to learn anything about entitlement, we sprang for one of these. He loves it. And why not? The thing is more comfortable than my own bed, and my own daughter tried to steal it from our dog the day we unwrapped it (it makes me wonder why we're wrestling with cribs and beds for my two daughters; just buy two of these, throw them in the corner, and you're done until they're ten). Our dog is a black lab/basset mix (I know, it amuses me too), and the large bed has plenty of room for him despite the fact he weighs a little more than the catalog copy suggests is right.
