Details: Drew Chicone's Mr. Chumlee is an innovative variation of a basic baitfish pattern, tied sideways on the hook in order to mimic a wounded baitfish floating on its side. The extra-long Craft Fur tail gives just enough movement to mimic the intermittent wiggle from the paralyzed baitfish. The wide piece of foam on the back of the fly keeps the fly on the surface and keeps it from spinning when stripped. Baitfish become stunned and disoriented during a blitz and tend to float sideways and swim in circles, and that is exactly what Mr. Chumlee is designed to imitate. Work the fly with a series of 1-foot-long strips, but then stop and let the fly float back to the surface. Sizes 1, 2/0.
