Good for the course, not the coverts -
By: Marthon1 from Upstate, NY
This review is after one season of regular use. I purchased these as a replacement pair of upland gloves last season. They are very attractive, thin for a positive grip, and snug but comfortable. I also liked that the materials allowed for my hands to breath a bit. Unfortunately, the materials these are made are not "Rugged... wards off brush and holds up to hard hunting". In fact, I found that they were regularly penetrated by the thorns which was both a distraction and annoyance when chasing partridge through the thick stuff. In fact, due to holes and tears, these barely made it through the season and already have been replaced for the coming fall. My conclusion is that they are perfect for the clays course, but not rugged enough for chasing birds.
Great gloves! -

I bought these gloves prior to the start of Winter for use while shooting skeet and sporting clays. They are extremely soft and comfortable, hold up well after many uses, great dexterity while handling and loading the shotguns and good looking to boot. I will be buying many more pairs as they are a great buy for the price. I also bought at the same time a pair of black leather shooting gloves from Orvis as well. They also were unlined, very attractive, great dexterity while using them and fit like a ............glove? Unfortunately the leather coloring came off on my hands and everything else I touched. My clothes, my face, the steering wheel in the car. I just looked through their glove selection before writing this and didn't see these gloves anymore. I assume they had too many complaints. They were twice the price of the Ultrasuedes as I recall.

Bought this for hunting and clays shooting. Very light and comfortable. Outstanding feeling both handling shells and trigger. Its as if you are not wearing gloves. True to size . These are very fine gloves, I should have bought 2 pair at least

Just as advertised. Fit was perfect and they perfomed as necessary on a cool morning crow hunt. Can not wait to get them to SD for an all out test on a pheasant hunt!

Last season, after I bought and reviewed the Orvis Shooting Gloves (2C9K). I could not find a single pair of these in my size! As much as I enjoy (and still use) the green gloves, I still wanted a pair of these to try. So I bought a pair and first off one notices how handsome looking this two-tone unlined glove is. It is nice enough to pair with fine outerwear. Putting the gloves on, they are very soft. They form to the hand, but you almost forget you're wearing them. The reinforced index finger and finger tips are a nice touch, but one doesn't lose tactile ability. The wrist has a double band of elastic and with a hook and loop closure to provide a wide spectrum of adjustment. I had no problems operating my shotguns barrel selector switch or safeties. Shells were easily loaded and hulls retrieved. Beautiful, functional and at a very fair price for a glove of this quality, but then again, I expect nothing less from Orvis. I may have to buy another pair before they're gone!
