My only Insulated roper! - 7/25/2012

The first pair that I bought had a defect in the sole attaching to the boot itself. I brought it back to the Orvis store and they had NO questions about the boot. They seen the defect and immediately ordered another pair. I have those in my possesion and wear them in the colder weather. Ropers are my boots of choice. But these are the only well-insulated roper boot I have worn. A great purchase!

    roper boots - 5/23/2012

Just received. haven't worn outside yet as these boots are insulated. Ordered 1/2 size larger than my street shoe size.,ordered same size as my running shoes. Fit great, look great, and am looking forward to wear them in the Fall to football games. Problem with leaving a comment is the having to give a nickname which hasn't been taken, impossible with the number of customers already submitting reviews.

    to tight - 1/23/2012

I found these boots to narrow for my medium width foot and since the leather is heavy and stiff I'm sure they would never fit well. I didn't care for the heel height either,I think it should be a little taller. They hurt my feet even after I removed the very thick insole because of the width.

    Very satisfied - 1/17/2012

Boots look and fit great. Wear a 10 1/2 B, and these fit perfect. For a plain boot with no stiching they look very dressy. Layered heel catches your eye and sets boots apart from standard riding heel. I have never purchased a Bison product that I did'nt like, and this is no exception! These boots should last forever with proper care.

    Bison Boots Review - 1/17/2012
    By: from Omaha, NE

Overall these boots are great. 1: The insulation causes the boots to run a 1/2 size smaller. 2: The pull straps are very tight and it is very difficult to get your fingers thru the straps to pull your boots on. They should include a pair of boot hooks with these boots. 3: The color is a reddish brown not brown like the photo. 4: I would like to see these boots without the insulation.

I knew these were great boots themoment I put them on. The pop in the heel lets you know the fit is right. They were comfortable just out of the box. I look forward to wearing them more in my retirement.

I absolutely love these boots. Took a week or so to break in. Now they are extremely comfortable and look great. I have gotten many compliments and people have asked where I got them. And, they are American made.

Not As Good As they look - 12/29/2011
    By: from Oregon

The Bison boots were very good looking on-line and when I received them. However, the fit was not. They are very narrow in the foot and sloppy in the heal. Others said the same thing.

    Very Nice! - 12/18/2011

Quick to break in, very comfortable. A little oil and some wear and they are like slippers. I do recommend wearing knee high thick sock with them as the upper rim is very stiff.

    nice boots but... - 11/21/2011

as other reviewers pointed out and i didn't pay enough attention to, these boots are available in only a B width - and they really are! much to tight for a C width even in 1/2 size bigger than usual
