Consistently stylish -

Although dry cleaning has been suggested for this item, I wash it in cold water with softener & dry on low. I have 5 pairs of these pants & really like that they fit well & make me look trim. I've had one older pr. of denim pants made into long crops. They feel silky, stay neat looking & are a bit dressier than most jeans. I have one pair in brown. I do need to have them hemmed, but that's not a problem. I wash them first. I hope Orvis keeps selling these pants. They're the best-fitting Tencel/cotton pants I've ordered from a catalog.
Great Material -
Great material and styling; only problem is I have a small waist so pants are too large around waist, but fit well in other areas.

My only reason for giving these pants 4 stars instead of 5 is to get the right fit in the rise I needed to get a regular size, rather than petite. I'll have to hem them up . I've worn these pants ever since I first discovered how tencel makes them light and cool. They are my go-to pants for comfort and warm weather.
Love these pants! -

My only regret is that Orvis no longer had them in black or beige. I have several pairs and would like more!
shape is so good -
These trousers are an extremely flattering shape but it is a pity that the fabric now suggests dry cleaning would be a good idea. Please find a fabric that is completely washable.
Everyday trousers -

Good fit. Much better than previous "Everyday Favourites" - they were clingy - these hang nicely. Will buy another pair if they wash well.

Very comfortable, practical & tough trousers for everyday. I wish they washed a bit better as the pairs i have had before go a bit shabby.I would prefer if they were non-iron. I think its the fabric. Shows up more in black. I'm on my 4th pair, though and would buy again. Not as good as your wonderful microfibre ones that are no longer available What a lot of us older women want is: comfortable elasticated waist, non iron easycare. We hate stretch fabric. We like really nice luxurious fabrics like the microfibre ones were, that look great for a long time. There must be a big demand out there for companies that give older people what they really want. Oh and we want to be able to buy the same thing next time if we like it..
perfect pants -
These panes have all my favorite qualities -- comfort, pockets, smart looks.
Best pants ever! -
I love these pants. It is hard to find dark brown pants with comfortable fit and long enough for me. These pants fit all the criteria.
|Tencel: natural fabric meets high-tech performance|
Eco-friendly and biodegradable
No fabric available today could better display the ideals of Orvis than Tencel®. Tencel is made of all-natural wood pulp fibers from trees grown on highly regulated farms that focus on sustainability. Not only is the material eco-friendly, but the process by which the fibers are made into fabric is, too. And when the clothing reaches the end of its useful life, it is especially kind to the environment. In fact, it is 100% biodegradable.
Moisture and temperature controlled for warm weather
The main benefit of clothing made from this unique fabric is the moisture and temperature control it offers to the wearer. Because wood pulp is naturally designed to absorb moisture for the tree’s survival, the fibers that are made into cloth do the same. The fabric pulls moisture directly from the skin and releases it into the air. Synthetic materials such as polyester do not take in moisture at all, but leave a film on the skin’s surface. And while cotton absorbs moisture, Tencel is 1 ½ times as absorbent. While cotton and polyester can both leave moisture on the skin in humid weather, Tencel does not, ensuring that bacteria will never get a chance to form between the fabric and the skin. This makes Tencel a truly safe fabric for all skin types – even babies!
Durable and soft for maximum comfort
But how can a biodegradable and moisture-locking fabric not supplemented with synthetic fibers possibly withstand the trials of daily wear and tear? The secret lies in nanofibrils – microscopic hairs that branch off from the outermost fibers. In the fabricating process, the nanofibrils are manipulated to give an all-natural fabric unnatural strength. Tencel even shows such strength while wet.
What’s more, Tencel is an especially smooth fiber, and has softness comparable to cotton and silk. The nanofibrils can also be altered to create fabrics that feel like suede, silk, denim, or as though they had been treated for a peach-skin finish.
Furthermore, these versatile Tencel fibers blend well with other fibers such as wool and cotton to create textiles more durable, soft, and moisture controlling than man-made fibers. Tencel clothing provides maximum comfort – whether you’re on the go, at work, or enjoying the outdoors.
A "feel-good" stylish fabric that's good for the environment
The Orvis customer can feel good about wearing and buying Tencel products – not only because they are naturally moisture wicking and very soft, but also because of the integrity in the source and the eco-friendly manufacturing process.
