Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Really disappointed. Thin fleece, looks like the pattern is stamped on it. Not worth the thought.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Same Garment Changed? This morning I purchased a backup of the Dunmoor Fleece Vest. My first one served me well over the last decade. The new one appears it may do the same. But there are differences. The new one is not longer identified as "Sporting" or as "The Northumberland Range" by Lord James Percy. The new one is manufactured in Bulgaria. Barbour is saving some manufacturing cost and Lord Percy, the designer, is no where to be mentioned. That said, the fit is a bit trimmer and the length about another 1" longer. The patterning is different but looks as sturdy as my previous "Percy" version. Rated this a 4 because of the changes. We will see if it lives up to its "5" predecessor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dunmoor Fleece Vest Immediately received comments on how great the product looked. Works great for temperatures between 40-60 degrees. Interior lining pattern goes well with most long sleeve shirts. Interior zippered pocket is nice add. Had some initial problems getting the double zipper on the front to work but after pulling a little of the fabric back all is good now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase I had previously purchased the Dunmoor coat and love it. After receiving the vest the feeling was the same. I don't worry about bad weather, I'm covered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Barbour vest Very happy with my new Barbour vest. My favorite aspects include the inner wallet zipper pocket, ability to wear under my Barbour Beaufort jacket, and shoulder pads for when I am shooting. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the zipper is sometimes hard to attach. Overall happy and content with the vest! -Would recommend over the zip in liner

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great investment All men should have a few pieces of investment clothing. A Barbour coat should be one of them. Great looking! Warm and stylish. Barbour clothing never goes out of style. Keep in mind, the Brits cut their clothes slim. I am 5-11 and 185. Normally I am 15.5 - 34 in a dress shirt and wear a medium but since this is a vest, I ordered a large since I would wear a sweater or heavy shirt underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Barbour Vest This Barbour vest is worth the buy. Not only is it very warm but you can wear it on great fall days as well. Also great for layering as well. Fits to size you are. I would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Vest Been looking at this vest for the past year or so and decided it was time to get it for myself as an early X-mas gift. Glad I did; it fits and looks great and is plenty warm enough for the mild winters here in Florida. Wish I had gotten it sooner.

Barbour of England

Since 1894, J. Barbour & Sons have produced clothes perfectly suited to enjoyment of life beyond the city. It is this commitment to quality and durability that has seen the name Barbour become synonymous with the best of country living.

The beginning of Barbour jackets

In 1894 John Barbour established himself in the burgeoning port of South Shields, supplying oilskins and other garments to protect the growing community of sailors, fishermen, rivermen and dockers from the worst of the North Sea weather.

Within a few years the firm became the leading supplier of oilskins on the north east coast, not only to seafarers but to others in the surrounding country - farmers, labourers, carters, shepherds - who earned their living outdoors in all weathers. By the beginning of the next century Barbour’s durable Beacon oilskins were well known throughout Britain and beyond.

The legendary durability of Barbour jackets

Barbour of EnglandIf there’s one feature that distinguishes Barbour jackets more than any other, it is their legendary durability. But, given the quality of materials used—genuine long-staple Egyptian cotton, solid brass studs, substantial metal zips, plus painstaking quality of construction with an average of 15,000 stitches and up to two hundred components—perhaps it’s hardly surprising.

The seams in a Barbour oiled cotton jacket are double rolled, each stitched through two thicknesses of fabric. It is an intricate part of the manufacture and it ensures that the seams are completely waterproof. Even the thread is treated with the same secret watertight proofing formula as the fabric itself.

How long a Barbour jacket will last very much depends on its use (or rather abuse in many cases). Undoubtedly, owners expect much more of a Barbour than any other garment because Barbour enables them to do more. They will subject themselves and their jackets to the severest conditions of weather, mud, animal contact and abrasion than they could ever contemplate if wearing anything less robust.
