These trips run from the beginning of July through the first week of September.
We provide all waders (if necessary), boots, rods, reels, terminal tackle, and flies.
We travel primarily at 4,000-feet along the river corridor, utilizing horses, mules, and self-bailing NRS Otter rafts. We float/fish the South Fork of the Flathead, and walk/wade its smaller tributaries.
Days run long in the summer in northwest Montana. Cool evenings (60s) and warm days (80s) start with beautiful sunrises at 5:00 am and gorgeous sunsets at 10:00 pm.
Our wilderness trips are a full 6-day itinerary, beginning early Sunday morning and ending with a fantastically fun BBQ at our Lodge!
A wilderness cook will accompany you for your entire trip, having appetizers awaiting your arrival back to camp after a full day of catching trout. You will feast on savory ribs cooked over a roaring fire, or grilled ahi tuna, followed by Dutch oven baked desserts!
We have one of the only legal seasons in the lower 48 to target the threatened, native bull trout. These behemoths can top out at over 36 inches and well over 15 lbs.! Our native, wild, and willing westslope cutthroat trout will readily rise to the surface to engulf your gigantic foam dry fly.
Give us a call and we can tell you what to bring, or send you one of our comprehensive trip planning booklets.
It's all in the booklet. Give us a call or shoot us an email. All questions will be answered.

You don't have to die to go to Heaven -
By: TedTownsend from Axminster, Axminster, Devon EX13, UK
Last week I travelled from England to fulfil a lifetime dream by fly fishing in Montana with members of my extended family. We took fourteen people, aged from 8 to 77 to Spotted Bear to fish the Flathead River. Chris and Tara McCreedy and their magnificent team looked after us Really well. Everyone had fun. Everyone caught fish and some caught plenty. Perhaps more important, we saw golden eagles, Ospreys, deer, and one bear. I HAVE PROMISED MYSELF I'M GOING BACK
best ever -
I have gone on a guided fishing trip every year for many years until I found Spotted Bear and it is now my annual trip for myself and either girlfriend or a group of guys. I have been there for the last 7 years and it remains way beyond my expectations. Superb guides, accommodations, food and the fishing is always excellent. Will be back again this July.
