Great flyfishing in a beautiful place! -
The staff at Broadacres really know how to fish and work very well with different skill levels. Have fished with Ray several times, both in the river and in the backcountry, and he really knows his stuff. He was very good with my daughter on our last trip and had her catching fish in no time. Hospitality and facilities are first-rate as well. We always include time to fish with the guys at Broadacres whenever we go to Creede!
Great week on the Rio -

Short version: Great fishing, cabin, staff and lodge! Long version: Last stay was a week long and it was too short. A fantastic stretch of the Rio Grande with access from both sides of the river. Very little pressure so the fish come willing to the dry fly. Occasional floaters coming through but they just keep going down stream. Every water type you can want - riffles, deep pools, cut banks, pocket water. Stream improvements to insure fish hold over and flourish. Fantastic head guide in Ray Kemper. The cabins are more than comfortable, the food is extraordinary and the main lodge is plush, comfortable and a great place to end the day with a meal prepared by a world class chef. My wife and daughter enjoyed the stay as much as I did. Ray gave both casting lessons in their private lake and they caught fish doing so. As a side benefit they have Shallow Creek to fish as well if you want some skinny water and tight casting to rising fish. The setting is beautiful with views of the surrounding valley, mountains and of course the river. The town of Creede is a treat as well. Small but with plenty of shopping for the girls. Just very quaint. I have fished and hunted with Ray many times and have had a special trip each and every time. He likes to break for lunch though! Memories of a lifetime.
A Place of Your Own -
Visiting Broadacres Ranch is a lot like having a place of your own without the expense. Nothing has been spared when it comes to accommodations and lodging. The creede area is very rich in history and an exciting place to take the entire family. Saving the best for last is the various types of fishing this operation has to offer. The world famous Rio Grand River provides early season floats through some of the area's most scenic water. The ranch has over 2.5 miles of private water on the Rio Grand as well. This river holds some of the most beautiful German Brown Trout I have ever seen with some of them hitting the 25" plus range. The private lakes and groomed streams are a great place to educate the novice fisherman like my wife. Raymon Kemper who is the manager provided a great lesson to my wife and provided a level of patients in his training that I can't deliver. He had her catching fish on the fist day and enjoying our outdoor experience. The lakes are home to numerous fish and some extremely large ones. The back country trip was an experience I can't wait to go back for. The 12,000 foot surrounding peaks make a beautiful backdrop for the small mountain streams teaming with aggressive brookies. It was an experience we all enjoyed. The evening meals at the lodge rank as some of the best cuisine I've experienced worldwide. This is definitely a place I would visit on a regular basis.
