Our dates of operation are August 8 thru October 10.
We have all rods and reels for clients to use, and we have a large assortment of flies we sell.
We access the river from the lodge via four-wheelers. We pull custom-built aluminum trailers with seats on them to the riverbank. We have no need for boats as you can wade anywhere in the slow-moving river, which means great top-water fishing!
Temperatures range between 40 to 65 degrees. Bring your rain gear and chest waders. The weather is usually better in August, and the days are longer than in September.
When arriving into Yakutat on Alaska Airlines, Yakutat Coastal Air Taxi will pick you up at the terminal then fly you 45 minutes to our lodge. The typical length of stay is 5 to 7 days.
We fish for silver salmon with poppers, starlight leeches, purple egg-sucking leeches, and an assortment of homemade flies.
Q. How do I get to your expedition location?
A. You will fly into Yakutat on Alaska Airlines (there are 2 flights a day). Alaska Coastal Airlines will pick you up at Alaska Airlines terminal and fly you to our lodge. If you have any questions please call.

Coho Mecca of the World -
By: CohoBob2010 from Olympia, WA
With the Pacific Ocean at your back, you'll be catching dime bright Cohos all day long. Excellent guides & great hospitality. Very flexible in their arrangement. No 8-5 fishing w/ Diericks; if you want to fish all day, no problem. When the wind dies down and the light is low, get ready for top water coho; they literally jettison their head out of the water to knab your top water fly.
