Perched in the Colorado Rockies at 8,400 feet, “Rawah” takes its name from the Ute Indian word for “abundance”. Adjoining the rugged, snowcapped peaks of the 100,000 acre Rawah Wilderness Area, our ranch occupies a magical setting in the undiscovered Laramie River Valley.
The idea of “abundance” is present in the rich diversity of our world class, Orvis-Endorsed fly fishing along our private 2 miles of the Laramie River on the ranch, traveling horseback or hiking through the rugged untouched Rawah Wilderness with our professional guides, our abundant wildlife, excellent cuisine, wonderful accommodations; private cabins along our river and main lodge, and most important, our heartfelt experience and commitment to provide you and your family with a true adventure and wilderness experience that will become a family tradition for years to come.
Our world-class fly fishing, wilderness horseback rides, hiking, whitewater rafting and other outdoor adventures are complimented by our luxurious accommodations and healthy mouth-watering cuisine for unmatched western adventure and rustic elegance for families, friends and groups. Your choice...." Welcome to the celebrated American Legacy we call home...Rawah Ranch.

COLORADO FLY FISHING: BIG LARAMIE RIVER & MORE
Our private 2 miles of the legendary Big Laramie River, also known as the “perfect trout stream” meanders carelessly right through the middle of our ranch, offering anglers of all ages and abilities unbelievable fly-fishing opportunities. Daily grand slams of rainbow, brown, and brook trout are not uncommon-in fact they are becoming a regular occurrence. After a great breakfast by the fire at the lodge, schedule a casting class or step right into the river from the porch. Cast flies with your professional fly-fishing guide in solitude to ferocious rainbows and wily brown trout. When you are ready, head back to the lodge for lunch. Spend an afternoon or evening as the sun sets over Rawah Peaks casting flies to grayling in one of our nearby stillwater fisheries. Travel with my professional fly-fishing guides, on gentle proven mountain horses or on foot into the Rawah Wilderness and fish for Colorado’s only native trout, the elusive greenback cutthroat, in one of a dozen “seldom seen” high country lakes. Combine Rawah’s home waters with our exclusive access to private wild waters in nearby North Park and create an unparalleled “Western Sampler” on coveted waters such as the North Platte, North Fork of the North Platte, the Michigan and the Canadian rivers. It would honestly take all summer to step in to all of the water we work in. Your choice. All guided. All catch and release.
