Region/Terrain Where You Fish

Asheville, North Carolina is the epicenter of Southeastern Fly Fishing. The diversity of the Trout Fishing options we have is unrivaled in the East.

Our North Carolina Wade Trips include everything from small stream, hike-in brook trout fishing to more open mid-sized freestone Trout streams. These rivers include, but are not limited to the Davidson River, Green River, Pigeon River Drainage, Laurel River, North Mills River, and the Ravens Fork of the Oconoluftee.

Our Trout Float Trips take place on big wide open tailwater rivers that provide ample room to cast and opportunities at larger trout. These rivers include the Tuckaseegee River in North Carolina and the Watauga River and South Holston River in Tennessee. The Tuckaseegee River is the most heavily stocked river in North Carolina and the Watauga and South Holston have the best hatches in the South East.

Asheville also has a ton of Smallmouth Bass in the French Broad River, the Pigeon River, the Nolichucky and the Toe River. All of this is within one hour of Asheville, “the Paris of the South.”

Great Guys, Great Time - 6/22/2015
    By: from Asheville, NC, USA

Brown and Christian were not only skilled but, guys you'd actually want to hang out with. All of us had little to no fly experience and caught fish after fish. Waded one day and floated another, still can't decide which was more beautiful. Lunch was amazing, guides walked us through and explained every special situation leading to way more fish than others around us. Word can't explain how incredible this was. Don't hesitate to book Brown Trout if you're in the area.

    Excellent Guide - 6/21/2015
    By: from Asheville, NC, USA

Last week my son and I went on a float trip with guide Jake Chiles. He is an excellent guide. He is knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and an expert of his local waters. Each time I have fished with Jake we have caught tons of fish. He understands where they are in the rivers and has excellent eyes at spotting them. His equipment is first rate and he is a true professional. This is the second year in a row we have fished with Jake and we will be back again next year!

Incredible Time on Green River! - 6/18/2015
    By: from Greenville, SC, USA

I started fishing last fall and could never manage to catch anything until we went out with Brown this past May. Not only did I learn more than I anticipated, but we caught a ton of trout in the process! Brown is very hands on with his teaching and actually makes you want to learn more. I definitely plan on going again in the future to see how my skills have improved! This trip is great for all ages and all skill levels.

All we could ask for - 6/18/2015
    By: from Raleigh, NC, USA

This was our second trip with Brown and Jake. They are the best. All of us had great success, but I was really hoping for a lifetime memory for my 8 year old son. We did. Last year he caught 11 on his dream day. This year he did even better, landing 18 including a 15" brown beauty. Several other people fishing nearby had a "bad day" so we need to give full credit for our wonderful day to Brown and Jake. We are hoping we get to fish with them every year.

Great Time on the Pidgeon - 5/7/2015
    By:

Our guide Jake was the best, even though it poured rain the whole day he put us on fish on a river that was not too impacted by the deluge. I would definitely hire them for a return trip.

    Great experience!!! - 5/5/2015
    By: from Charlotte, NC

Brown & Jake made my first fly-fishing adventure as easy and seamless as possible. Our entire group picked it up quickly and I doubt that can be attributed to our natural fishing abilities. I would recommend either or both of our guides, Brown and Jake, to anyone consider a fun client, family, or friend outing in the Asheville area.

Best fishing experience ever - 5/5/2015
    By:

I grew up fishing in the mountains but I have never had an experience like I did with Brown. This was my first fly fishing attempt so I wasn't sure how the day would go. An hour in I felt like a pro and already caught more trout than I've ever caught in a day! Brown did a phenomenal job teaching me how to handle casting and some much needed "trout psychology". I would recommend them to anybody I know!

    First Class Experience - 5/5/2015
    By: from Charleston, SC, USA

My first attempt at fly fishing and because of Brown, it couldn't have been better. He's extremely knowledgeable and patient with beginners. Overall, it was a first class trip and I will most certainly schedule another trip in the future with him!

    First Timer & I'm Hooked - 5/4/2015
    By:

Brown & Jake were the ideal guides, very personable and laid back. Great instructors for a bunch of first timers. They made sure we caught a ton of fish by moving around and changing up our flies continually. They also delivered a first class lunch when we needed it most.
