Excellent trip for fly or spin fishermen. - 10/15/2014

A friend and I took a full day trip with Tom, catching over 30 strippers on fly and spin rods, mostly on top water flies or plugs. Great service and a fun guy to fish all day with.

    Day of Rememberance - 10/12/2014
    By:

The day before our trip, we layed to rest a women know to my kids as "Nan", and to my brother-in-law and as "Mom". We ventured out for a day of fishing, but more importantly a day to decompress and enjoy the wonders of the Chesapeake. Even thought the fish weren't cooperating, Capt Tom, the professional that he is, made it a most memorable day none the less. As we sat in the shadows of the Thomas Point Lighthouse for lunch, we reminisced about lady who was loved by all. Thank you so much Capt Tom!

Great day on the bay! - 10/7/2014
    By: from Washington, DC, USA

Great day on the bay. First time fishing for Stripers and Blues and Capt Tom put me on to a lot of fish! 30 plus fish to the boat across a fun day. Tom is personable and knows the area - where the fish are and how to catch them. If you enjoy catching good numbers of Stripers from 16-20 inches I recommend this trip.

    Great Father-Son Trip - 9/25/2014
    By: from Maryland, USA

Captain Tom Hughes did a great job handling a beginner's fishing trip for my 8-year-old son and me. He made sure we both had a great time, and he was very patient with my over-excited and inquisitive son. I hope to plan another trip with Capt. Tom, and would highly recommend him.

    Capt Tom Hughes - 9/15/2014
    By: from Maryland

My two sons and I went on a day trip with Capt Tom and had a great trip. The day went by very fast. Capt Tom gave us an action packed experience with no shortcuts as we covered over 65 miles of the bay fishing various structures. We caught stripers, blue fish and white perch. Capt Tom was very good at explaining the areas we were fishing and what we could expect to catch. Will do it again next year.

    First Rockfish Charter - 6/19/2014
    By: from Alexandria, VA, USA

Did lots of web research and decided on Capt Tom Hughes based on other ratings, Orvis affiliation and the type of fishing he did. For our first Rockfish charter it was a fantastic expeience and that included enough fish to keep the day exciting. Capt Tom was knowledgeable, personable and worked very hard to ensure we found fish. He was also a patient teacher on the right techniques. The lunches made by his wife were hearty and tasty. Gear and tackly were of good quality and the boat was very comfortable with lots of free deck space for fishing. We can't wait to book the next trip.
