We offer fishing trips from May to October.
We provide guided fly fishing; fly-fishing instruction as desired; all fly-fishing equipment as needed, except waders; and lunch. We do not include airport transportation, gratuities, or fishing licenses.
We fish the Blackfoot, Missouri, and Bitterroot Rivers.
Anyone who knows anything about Montana knows how difficult it is to predict the weather here. At PRO Outfitters, our favorite saying is: If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes and it will change! This applies to all seasons and makes the dress in layers philosophy really practical. You can't go wrong if in you prepare for anything in the spring and fall and stay prepared for most things in July and August.
Guests will meet their guide at a predetermined location between 8 and 9am, and head to the river from there. The trip starts at the put-in and continues downstream for a beautiful stretch of river. After a quick takeout for a delicious lunch, they continue on for more fishing. The trip ends at the takeout around 5pm, where fish stories are swapped.
We fish for rainbow, brown, cuttbow, and our native westslope cutthroat trout. Occasionally, you will catch a brook or bull trout.
Hat, sunglasses, quick-dry pants, lightweight shirt, pullover or sweater, raincoat, camera, river shoes, good socks, sunscreen, and any personal gear you choose to use.

Heaven in Montana -

Beautiful river. Lots of fish. Good guides. Super food. What else do you want?
Fantastic experience -
By: CuttybrownGus from halifax, nova scotia
I cannot recommend this trip highly enough -this was a once in a lifetime experience. The staff of PRO Outfitters were fantastic. I have been on many fishing trips but I have never seen guides better at manning the boats or maximizing the experience for the angler. When we weren't catching fish, we were either laughing uncontrollably or quietly enjoying the spectacular scenery. The food was great, the tents and cots wonderfully comfortably. If you have a chance to take this trip, do it or learn to cope with a lifetime of regret.
One Relaxing Weekend -
By: MontanasFishingCouple from Libby, MT 59923, USA
At Pro-guide outfitters in Ovando,MT we had a most memorable and relaxing weekend. The hospitality and food were of exceptional quality and taste. While the company of staff around the campfire made for some great memories with a good cigar, a cold beer and each story becoming bigger and better than the last. The setting was incredible, with the lodge nestled along the shore of the North Fork of the Blackfoot River where each evening we had incredible sunsets to end our evenings. Even thought the fishing conditions weren't the greatest or easiest (water starting to drop and 90+ air temps.) our guide worked his hardest to put us on fish and give us a truly great experience. Pat was great with the both of us, letting me roam and enjoy my solitude, while spending the extra time giving my wife the extra pointers and instruction to help her become a better angler. The weekend with Pro-guide outfitters lived up to my expectations and even surpassed them in a few categories.
Annual Fishing Trip with Friends -

Pro Outfitters has treated us well. Now that they changed some office staff, they made some good improvements. Their fishing guides are excellent.
Family fly fishing trip on the Blackfoot -
By: Drflyfish from dallas tx
my family had a great time floating and fishing on the Blackfoot last month. Both guides were extremely nice, and knowledgeable- so good that my wife and 2 daughters, who rarely fish- caught more and bigger fish than myself (who has been fly-fishing nearly 30 years)! That made the entire trip worth it.

One of the greatest trips I have ever gone on. Everyone from the staff to the fishing guides were really friendly and acted quickly if you needed anything. The lodge, sleeping quarters, bathroom/shower facilities were super clean. Also the property around the lodge was well kept. Such a wonderful place. Can't wait to go back next year!
Awesome 50th on the Smith -
By: Scott63 from New Canaan, CT, USA
Stunning scenery, great weather, and good fishing (it was a little too hot to be great fishing). The best part of the trip was the great personalities and attitudes of the guides and freighters. Brandon, Johnny, Ben, and Curt were all terrific and we developed quite a lot of comradery on the river.
Return Trip -
By: OptimusPrime from Helena, MT, USA
To celebrate our first wedding anniversary we returned to North Fork Crossing after 4 years. As before, the hospitality was first rate, and we particularly enjoyed the young people working there. The food was superb, and the tent cabins are the best. What a way to "rough it".
Terrific time from start to finish -
By: LPtagsalong from Helena, MT
10 of us from Helena spent two nights at the lodge and one day fishing. We had woman who had never fished, a young boy and some more experienced flyfishers. 5 boats/5 guides and everyone had the best guide! Loved the "glamping" accomodations - very glamorous camping. Food was terrific and staff was friendly. Loved the gift shop too.
