We are lucky enough to be in close proximity to a lot of good freestone and tailwater fishing, which means we are doing guide trips to world-class water every day of the year!
All of our guided trips include all necessary Orvis equipment, waders/boots/rods/reels, terminal tackle, transportation to and from the river, education and instruction from your Orvis-Endorsed Guide, beverages, and lunches on full-day trips.
We are located in the heart of Breckenridge in Summit County, Colorado. There are six gold medal rivers with in an hour of Breckenridge, including the Arkansas, Blue, Colorado, Eagle, and South Platte Rivers. We also fish many stillwater lakes, reservoirs, and private ranches. These waters offer diverse fishing environments ranging from small streams in high mountain plains to fishing big rivers surrounded by canyon walls and even fishing pristine high alpine reservoirs filled with trophy fish. Our county also offers a variety of different activities for the family as well as restaurants and bars for after-fishing activities.
Though our summer and fall fishing seasons tend to be the most popular, our winters are not to be missed. Because our season is all-year long, there is a very diverse range of fishing opportunities, from casting large dry flies to technical nymph fishing in the winter season. Some highlights of our season include the rainbow and cutthroat spawn in the spring and the brown and brook spawn in the fall. In each of these shoulder seasons you can experience great streamer fishing and catch large fish that do not usually expose themselves in the summer.
Our typical trip will meet at our shop in the morning between 7-8am. After being transported to the river, our guides provide the option of a casting and fish-fighting clinic where the guide familiarizes guests with equipment, flies, and different water-reading techniques for beginners. Throughout the course of the day, the guides instruct guests so that each skill builds upon the previous skill and by the end of the day most of our anglers have a good understanding of how to fish and a solid grasp on fly-fishing techniques. All of our trips are educational, fun, and fishy!
Every season of the year we are fishing for browns, rainbows, brooks, and cutthroats. In the spring, cutthroat and rainbows are more prevalent; in the fall, browns or brooks are the predominant trout. Also, in the late fall and early winter, kokanee salmon run up from Dillon, Green Mountain, and Elevenmile Resevoirs.
Customers should bring on their trip their hats, sunglasses, and licenses. Each adult over 16 will need a valid driver’s license in order for us to issue a fishing license and also to validate the fishing license with the state. Also, excitement and good attitudes are always appreciated and will be acquired almost immediately upon arrival.
We are proud to offer the best service in our shop and also equip you with the best guides on our local waters. We pride ourselves in being an honest small business that takes care of our customers no matter what. We enjoy educating everyone who walks in the door about any question that has to do with fly fishing. We have had many people say that they learned how to fly fish through our shop by stopping in over and over again to learn how to tie knots, get a good drift, and identify the hatches. We look forward to continuing these relationships for years to come. Tight lines!

Great Day Fishing/Great Guide -
By: slusarchyk from Windsor, CO, USA
We had a great half-day, walk and wade trip with our guide, Chip. He was patient with the two first-time fly fishermen, while still able to share knowledge with the third, more seasoned fly fisherman in the group. Chip's passion for fishing, patience, and knowledge shone through in our day with him. It's a testament to Chip's patience and calmness that he could get my sister-in-law hooked on fly fishing after just one day; she started off the day saying, "I don't like this," and finished ready to buy a her own fly rod and reel.
Great Trout Trip -

Mike Lanzarini took my son and I on the South Fork of the Platte. Caught bows and cut bows on nymphs even with swollen conditions from historic runoff. Great guide, great trip!
Fantastic Guide -
We went fly fishing in the surrounding areas of Breckenridge with Breckenridge Outfitters in June. Our guide was fantastic, a great teacher! We were new to fly fishing and the rivers were very high this year. Yet, by the end of the day we were roll casting with ease and landing fish. And he shared so much information and resources with us that we will be able to use in the future as we become more experienced. Our guide was an expert with extensive knowledge of techniques, gear, and the rivers in the area. We will definitely be using Breckenridge Outfitters again.
Exceptional Service and Outstanding Day -

I had my son and his three teenage friends join me for a half day of fly fishing which was new to all of us. Mike Workman and Boston George are exceptional guides as well as very patient and friendly instructors. Their professional approach, depth of knowledge and good sense of humor was appreciated by all. I highly recommend Mike and George as guides and Orvis for all of our equipment. I cannot wait until we return for another outing with this outstanding team.

I have never used a guide in over 15 years of flyfishing and must say I learned a lot. The conditions for fishing were pretty tough the day I went out but my guide, Freddie, as they call him, was super patient and we threw everything we could at them. Definitely recommend him.
Made the experience easy and fun. Would certainly book these guys again!
Had an Amazing Time -

I had an amazing time, and I'd highly recommend this outing to anyone. I'd never gone on a guided trip before, so I was a bit nervous. From the minute I walked in the door, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and the entire process couldn't have been easier. The actual trip was amazing - one of the best days I've ever had. Beautiful scenery, great fishing, very friendly and super helpful & knowledgable guide. I couldn't have asked for me. Seriously - I NEVER write reviews, good or bad, about anything, but I'm more than happy to for this. Can't wait to get back out there!
Super day on the Colorado River with Darin. -
By: Scovophoto from Seattle, WA, USA
Breckenridge Outfitters set me up with a guide with one days notice. I just showed up and the next day I was fishing the Colorado river. Darin was a super fun guide and I think we both had a great day on the river. I really this outfitter and highly recommend them.

I am just learning to fly fish. The crew in Breckenridge were extremely helpful and patient. Learned how to cast, read water and actually landed a few fish my first time out. They made it a great experience, I am hooked!!!

very good weather during am, then the dreaded W came up in pm. Darin was wonderful with two age-advanced anglers. Took very good care of us. Caught fish, good lunch and laughs, broke rod, but had a great experience. Break. Outfitters is the Best.
