Dream Ranch is a family owned property that was a dream and a beautiful piece of acreage just a decade ago. The Ainsworths' passion for hunting, wingshooting, and the beautiful terrain and views of North Alabama were the catalyst for what is now one of the premier destinations for wingshooting in the United States. The Ranch is 2,000 acres of prime woodlands and wetlands that are pristinely manicured for quail and duck. The 14,000 square foot log lodge sits high above Lake Guntersville and Brown’s Valley and offers breathtaking views in all directions. The lodge is a retreat all to itself with 8 bedrooms, locker room, Pro Shop, hot tub, pool table and card tables, Covered and screened porches and massive rock fireplaces inside and out. Date Range

Dream Ranch is open year round. We offer superb fresh water fishing in Lake Guntersville April - September and Wingshooting October - March. We also host a large number of weddings, corporate retreats, family reunions, and other functions.

What is Provided to Customer

Quail Hunts include License, Guide, Dogs, Jeep and a limited or unlimited number of birds depending on the package you choose.

Duck Hunts are fully guided by an experienced duck hunter and caller. We will transport you from the lodge to your hunting venue and assist you in any way to insure that you have a successful hunt.

Dream Ranch offers rental shotguns and has ammunition for sale for whichever hunt or hunts you are participating.

Region/Terrain Where You Hunt

Dream Ranch quail hunts are hosted by a knowledgeable guide who is very dog and bird savvy. You will be picked up at the lodge in one of our custom jeeps and hunt on a course that is maintained year round for one reason--hard flying bobwhite quail. Duck hunting in Alabama is a well kept secret--well probably not for long. We hunt private venues that see limited hunters and are sure to offer plenty of shooting opportunities. We only offer a limited number of duck hunts to insure that each hunt is of the highest quality.

Quail Season is open from October 1 - March 15.

We offer Half & Full Day Hunts and recommend that you book early. We take pride in putting together custom hunt packages that offer you everything that you desire and nothing that you do not. Whether you want a morning hunt and lunch or three full days of hard core Wingshooting we aim to make your dreams come to life.

Duck season is projected to open the first weekend of December and run through the last weekend in January. These dates are mandated federally and are subject to change. We offer half and full day duck hunts as well as a Duck-Quail Combo which is a favorite among returning clients.

There is no end to the activities that can be scheduled within an hour of Dream Ranch.

Lodging, Meals, and Accommodations

Dream Ranch Lodge is a log and stone structure that spares no amenities. The 14,000 square feet were planned and built with the comforts of home and the desires of an avid hunter in mind. Each of the 8 suites are uniquely decorated and offer a large closet and a private bath that is simply elegant. We have three king rooms, three with two double beds, and two bunkrooms. The locker room is the perfect place for your hunting equipment, boots, waders, etc... The multi story layout offers both group and private areas inside and out. We have a pool table, chess table, and card tables for your gaming experiences or just relax in the hot tub! Dream Ranch offers Southern Dining at its' best! Don't believe it? Come and try us!

What Should Customers Bring?

Wingshooting - we recommend rubber boots for morning hunts, layered clothing, and hunters orange is required.

Waterfowl - you will need layered camouflage clothing and hip waders.

We do have a well stocked pro shop that offers anything that you may need while hunting with us at Dream Ranch.
