Grey Reef Anglers & Wingshooting leases over 75,000 acres of private ranch land in Wyoming which allows us to offer a multi-day multi-species type upland bird hunt package tailored for hunters looking to capitalize on Wyoming's bird hunting diversity. The terrain consists of canyon lands, prairie grasslands, forested mountain tops, grain fields, and the terrain on your Wyoming hunt is as diverse as its birds. Up to 6 species of upland game birds including sage grouse, blue grouse, sharptail grouse, Hungarian partridge, chukar partridge, and pheasant.
Wyoming has exceptional fall weather for upland bird hunting through Dec. 1. Typical days start in the 30's and have high's in the 60's, perfect for bird hunting. After December 1st, be prepared for cold and snowy weather, but this can also be some of the best bird hunting we see as birds are often concentrated and easier to predict.
Most guests arrive the day before their hunt begins and get settled into our lodge overlooking the North Platte River. Enjoy a nice home cooked meal and rest up for the next day. Your hunt day will start very early as you will eat breakfast and meet your guide. Your guide will set up the hunt day according to which species of birds you’re wanting to hunt. Typical travel from the lodge will consist of 15 minutes to an hour, depending on what bird species your hunting. Client dogs are welcome, but must be well behaved and controllable. Guide dogs include German shorthaired pointers & Brittany spaniels.

These guys are very good at what they do. They have access to lots of territory, they know it well, and they get the most out of it (which is alot). And they're great guys to boot.

Having Jason as a guide is like hunting with your best friend. He is very knowledgeable about the birds and their habitats. We saw alot of birds and were able to harvest a couple of sage grouse and our limit of huns. We had many opportunities at blue grouse but in the end they won. More motivation for us to return! His dogs work very well and got along great with my English Setter. My buddy's gun jammed up and Jason had a spare gun for him to borrow. On our way back to the lodge one night, he even stopped to help a local rancher get his truck out of a small creek. Jason is just an all around good guy. The lodge was comfortable and the food was plentiful and good. Jason's wife Judi cooked for us a couple of nights and did an awesome job! I would highly recommend Grey Reef Anglers and Wingshootong!
