Overview

Quail Country Plantation lies in Southwest Georgia in the heart of the "Quail Hunting Capital of the World." With a history dating back to 1960, we are all about Georgia quail hunting. To hunt at Quail Country is to take a step back in time. We offer genuine southern hospitality, incredible wildlife habitat, diverse landscape and a professional courteous staff. With the finest hunting dogs, state of the art kennels and the most beautiful woodlands, our grounds are managed and cared for every day for one reason only-to take you quail hunting.

Our lodge boasts over 14,000 square feet fluidly designed with your comfort and relaxation in mind, it is strategically placed along the meandering banks of Mill Creek. This spring fed creek stays at a constant 67 degrees year round. We offer all of our facilities for year round events and parties complete with lodging, meals, and catering for your convenience and enjoyment. Pull up a big oak rocker on one of our porches or decks and slip back to a more peaceful lifestyle.

What is Provided to Customer

Our clients are provided with the quail hunt that will not be easily forgotten. In addition, we provide your preserve hunting license, cleaned quail, professional guides, excellent dogs, quail habitat that rivals any anywhere, and lots and lots of southern hospitality.

Region/Terrain Where You Hunt

Our quail habitat varies from farm field edges to piney woods with wiregrass and scattered hardwoods to open dry-land fields that are used only for quail hunting. Food plots are planted annually in all areas. Our terrain is mostly flat with occasional mild rolling hills.

Scenario 1: Arrive in the afternoon, enjoy 5-stand clays shooting, appetizers with an open bar and a full southern dinner. Relax and sleep in a semi-private or private room. The next morning, have a full hot breakfast, then enjoy your morning’s quail hunt. When you return, we will have lunch ready for you. Following lunch, your cleaned and packed quail will be ready for your trip home.

When you return, we willn the afternoon, enjoy 5-stand clays shooting, appetizers with an open bar and a full southern dinner. Relax and sleep i have lunch ready for you. Following lunch, enjoy your afternoon’s quail hunt. Upon returning, your cleaned and packed quail will be ready for your trip home. You may opt to stay another night and leave the following morning after breakfast.

On-site Activities

PULL! Whether you are warming up your shooting skills for the upcoming quail hunt or you enjoy shooting at flying clay targets---Quail Country is your shooting destination. Marty Fischer designed our 5 Stand. This is available to our guests during Quail Season –October through March. It is also available off-season to groups of 2 or more with prior reservations. Our 5 Stand offers a wobble trap and Flush & Flurry. It is fully automated and lit for those of you who like the challenge of shooting after dark.

With all of the conveniences of a metropolitan center, Quail Country can offer you the one thing most others can’t - the undivided attention of your staff. While offering your employees the trip of a lifetime, you can eliminate all of the distractions that normally interfere with a productive meeting. Whether for a day, a weekend, or a week, our staff will see to it that you have everything you need for a successful meeting. Our Conference Room in the Pavilion is available for conferences, meetings, etc. It is equipped with conference tables and chairs, 52 inch wall-mounted Sony TV with direct laptop or camera hookups. Hi-Speed Satellite Internet access is also available. Our Conference Room will accommodate 35-40 persons. The pavilion also contains a fireplace, pool table, card table, dartboard sitting area with leather furniture and a restroom.

Off-site Activities

Area attractions can include a tour of a local winery, antique shopping in nearby towns, a visit to a state park and its Kolomoki Indian Mounds, an outing to the nearby site of White Oak Pastures or a little theatrical entertainment from our local Swamp Gravy cast members. Much is in store!

Lodging

Lodging, Meals, and Accommodations

The Lodge is over 13,700 square feet in size and sits on the bank of the meandering Mill Creek. There is approximately seventy five acres of fishable lake behind the lodge with stately live oaks that surround the pavilion and cover the back lawn.

Each of the fifteen bedrooms boasts two full-sized luxurious beds with extra-long mattresses and a private bathroom. There are fine linens, plush towels and private courtyards with porches on both the east and west wings. The lodge also features high speed wireless internet and two private telephone rooms. There are two very comfortable lounge areas, a great dining room and a serving room that is sure to make you feel at home.

The only thing better than the new and very spacious kitchen are the chefs and cooks that you will find there. The QCP Lodge is truly a fabulous facility in a fabulous setting. After dinner, a walk to the pavilion for a game of pool, some refreshments and a fine cigar in a rocking chair, may be the perfect ending to a perfect day. After all, somebody has to do this. And just think, the smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning before breakfast, and you are off to do it again!
