Love the long down coat? -

Since the temperature is I the 90'si have not worn the coat outdoors to test it when it's cold and windy, but I expect it will do very well. I can say that it fits perfectly, nice sleeve length, even though I am usually a petite medium and I got the coat in a large. I wanted it to fit over a suit jacket, and I wanted it long, long enough to keep my legs warm. It has terrific deep pockets to hold gloves, zip shut and are barely visible when closed. The color, Bordeaux, is just what I wanted. Orvis has never disappointed me, and certainly neither did this coat.
Just what I was looking for -

I needed a lightweight, warn coat that wasn't so very long and looked smart. 2 years I searched, I work at an upscale retailer and even with my discount could find nothing. This coat is smart enough to wear to work, it's promise to cut out all wind and cold is true and it didn't coat me a weeks salary. So happy with this purchase.

When I started looking for a down coat, I searched online, looking at many styles. Every now and then I'd see one I liked, but would worry about whether it would fit or be of the best quality. When I saw this coat, I knew that it would fit and that the quality would be Orvis top-notch. I was not disappointed. It is warm and snug, with flannel-lined pockets and cuffs inside the sleeves. The two-way zipper works well. It is not overly bulky There is no hood, but this gives me the opportunity to wear a favorite hat and scarf. This was a good choice and I look forward to the cold days now!

I just received the women's long down coat in black. It fits nicely and true to size and I really like the snap flap over the zipper -- often I just snap a couple. The sleeves are quite long -- and I have long arms -- but okay -- you can keep half your hands inside them plus there are sock cuffs to keep out the breezes. Pockets zip closed -- but they're quite small -- I'm not sure lightly lined leather gloves will fit easily, and large mittens or gloves definitely would not without ripping the pocket. The opening should be at least an inch larger and the pocket itself could be 50% larger with no problem to the design. Not quite a keeper for me, but worth trying.
