Details

New for 2013! ALL-INCLUSIVE – School includes lodging, meals, and a guided fishing trip! The Orvis Redfish School is held at the Cabin Bluff Resort in Woodbine, Georgia. Established in 1928, Cabin Bluff, an Orvis-Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge, sits on the Cumberland River across from the famed Cumberland Island National Seashore and has hosted Presidents and distinguished sporting enthusiasts from around the world. The lodge is very secluded and the flats and tidal creeks abound with redfish.

Students stay in beautifully appointed cabins and enjoy gourmet meals while taking in the rustic beauty of the South Georgia coast. Cabin Bluff is 45 minutes from the Jacksonville International Airport.
Students arrive on the afternoon before the first day of the school. After 1 ½ days of fly casting instruction and some classroom activities, students will spend the afternoon of the second day fishing for largemouth bass and panfish on the many fish-filled ponds at Cabin Bluff honing their casting and fishing skills before heading out on a guided redfish trip with experienced guides on the morning of the third day.

I can't comment on the Orvis part of this school, but I can tell you that if you are an outdoorsman, you will absolutely fall in love with the Lodge at Cabin Bluff. From a fishing, hunting, and just plain outdoorsman perspective...God has not created a better place than The Lodge at Cabin Bluff. The fishing won't stop at the "end of the day"....the fall trout fishing off the dock at night is amazing. This place Rocks!
