Overall this is a great coat. I'm 6' 1", 145 (I'm pretty lanky,) and ordered the medium and I think it fits really nice. It is very lightweight and I think sits on the body well. It is a two part jacket, with a thin outer shell which is a really nice, tight-knit fabric that is really pretty soft and attractive, and then a fairly thin, orange polyester lining that buttons in, which makes it seem pretty versatile, which I haven't really tested out the versatility yet. I bought it for a winter coat, which it is not the warmest once you get below 15 or 10 degrees, but I also layer a lot and it has been fine. It is a little darker and greener in color than the photo but I think the actual color is some much better. The hood is not detachable, but I think it looks nice and is actually convenient and lays well when you're not wearing it. It's not too big or awkward or ugly or any of the issues that normally come with having hoods on coats. I've had quite a few compliments on it. It is constructed really well and I'm really happy I purchased it. I've never had a real Orvis winter coat, so I can't compare, but for their more entry-level coats, this one is great.

This looked like a great jacket online, but it wasn't what I expected. Light cotton outer layer with a silky orange button in lining. Look like competition for the Orvis Field Coat, but not nearly as durable or as warm. I returned it to the Orvis store near me.

Orvis, please make your jackets and other outerwear in size S as well. This could have been a very nice jacket but at M it's like an XL

I had a parka when I was in school and I have searched for another one like it ever since. This is the one, only better. The removable liner makes it usable from fall through spring. Great Buy!

One of the best coats I had ever received from Orvis. I have purchased at least 25 coats from Orvis and this one is one of the best. Fits true to size and very well put together

this jacket is wonderful as a light coat but not a really cold weather one. I love how the inside liner is orange and can also be used for just hunting. it would of been better if the liner had buttons. I will probably sew some on. otherwise the coat is going to make a great hunting jacket and casual one on the town

Good product. Well made. Seems to be right for what I wanted. Just wish that it had side pockets.

It fits nicely with or without the liner. This garment is good for late fall and areas with mild winters. Water resistance is fine in a light to medium rain. The permanently attached hood doesn't roll up into the collar. The hood does not lay well on the garment.
