Lab Stirrup Cup Set

Toast the tradition of the hunt with this stirrup cup set.

Details

In the late 1600s and throughout the 1700s, "dram cups" were used to serve welcome drinks to hunters as they gathered on horseback to start the day. Originally constructed with feet on the bottom, these small silver-handled bowls eventually lost their feet and became known as stirrup cups, meant to be easily held while on horseback. This set of four features a detailed reproduction of a Lab's head on the bottom of each cup. White nickel-plated metal with European glass. Imported.

cute concept. However, upon receipt, two of the cups were no longer attached to the pewter lab heads. Some well applied superglue has fixed the problem.
