    Good coat - 5/5/2015
    By:

Very warm coat and great workmanship I wear a 46 sports coat and the 44 fit great however the shearling was very course and rough so if i didnt have something heavy under it it was itchy. I have several other shearling coats and many times wear theam with short sleeves with no problem so i returned it.

    B 7 Aleutian Parka - 3/26/2015
    By: from Tn.

OK, a 4.5 on this but I'm not going to stick them with a four. It's everything they say it is, but, the Fox fur around your face may be a very different color and or texture that you see in this photograph. If you're on the fence and you think you want to buy it....well for sure if they run a sale on it go ahead and buy it before your died wishing you did. ") It's incredibly so warm you can only wear it in unusually cold wind and weather, or you will sweat. And don't whine about the price, you only live once. Enjoy yours, I am mine!

    Norway Bound - 3/10/2015

Relocating to Norway, so I wanted a warm coat. I haven't given it a full test run yet, but from the looks of the excellent workmanship, this will be the go to coat...

    returned - 12/29/2014
    By: from Northern Michigan

I was hesitant to purchase this coat based on the price and some of he comments. When it arrived I was excited to see it and try it on! I was truly disappointed in not only the feel of this coat but the fit was large on the body and really tight on my arms. I really liked the idea of purchasing a quality coat made in the USA. Importantly it must fit as well!

    Broken Heart - 12/1/2014
    By: from Hovland, MN

It broke my heart to have to return this parka. The arms were too tight and the body too full. The parka also had a small tear in the leather at the base of the zipper. The parka would be a lot more appealing if the hood were removable with a taller collar for use with the parka off. I wanted to keep this due to the great leather look and the feel of the shearling but couldn't.

Over $2500.00 for a coat, and NO regrets. It was everything it said it would be. In Buffalo, this year we had a polar vortex and -50f wind chills. No problem. I even added it to my will. Michael. P.S. I also bought my daughter and myself each a complete set of luggage. Extremly happy there too. Orvis offers me accsess to high quality items not available elsewhere.

    Well-made and Warm! - 1/15/2014
    By: from New York City

This is a very good coat for extreme cold. It's very warm and heavy. Has good internal pocket space and hood keeps cold off your face and head. However, I'd prefer all shearling on hood and not fur. The fur can get in your eyes. Also, the leather button closure loops may be a little difficult to unbutton at times. But these are minor gripes. Overall, this is a great coat. It's a genuine cold weather buster! I have gotten many compliments for others.

    Review part II - 12/21/2013
    By: from North Texas

Part II of my review. The fit on my parka size 44 is very snug in arms down to wrist. Would be hard to layer.also noted fur hood brim has significant shedding. More than other high quality coats. Also many loose thread terminations. Again I am a very critical customer and have very high expectations in a parka that is offered at this price level.
