Our automatic-movement watches never require battery changes or winding. Simply wear the watch normally, and go about your daily routine. The natural movements of your arm will, throughout the course of the day, “charge” or “wind” the watch, so you always stay right on time.
To keep an automatic watch fully wound, just wear it daily. The remarkably efficient mechanism will harness the motion of your body, transferring this energy to the main spring of the mechanism. An excellent choice for travel, self-winding watches have no hard-to-replace internal battery that could unexpectedly run out when you’re far from home.

Sending an Orvis watch in for service:
In the event that your Orvis timepiece should require repair, simply send it to us along with our Watch Repair Form. We offer a full range of watch-repair services:
- Battery Replacement - New cell, gasket and water-resistance check, and two-day running test ($10 return shipping and handling fee applies).
- Damaged Watch Repair - We will examine your watch and contact you with a repair estimate.
- Band Replacement - We will replace your worn or broken watch band ($25 fee for new band and shipping and handling). Please note: If a direct replacement is not available, a similar band may be substituted.
- Watch Repair - If your watch should stop functioning during normal use, send it to us for inspection and repair, free of charge (excluding shipping and handling).
Secure your watch in a small, sturdy box. Please note that your packaging will not be returned to you - for this reason, we do not recommend that you send your watch in its original packaging. We also do not recommend that you send your timepiece in a padded envelope - your watch could be easily damaged, lost, or stolen in transit.
