The best of their kind...but -

Excellent functionality but the fig doesn't work for everybody. I had poor fit but the manufacturer offered a option to have them installed in custom fitted molds of my ears (for a fee) that made all the difference. I have larger ear canals and that impacted fit. These "fit most" as they are. They do require service for a nominal charge every 1-2 years. That has been my experience and those of my shooting friends. They are a fine electronic device and are prone to quirks every so often. They are the best product of their kind but consider them as reliable as a personal computer and you won't have unreasonable expectations.

I do a lot of shooting a recently decided that I needed to invest in hearing protection. I can't shoot with ear muffs because the stock of my gun hits them when I mount. I bought the standard pair and use them often. They are tough in upland situations, as I struggle sometimes to hear the exact direction of the dog's beeper collars when they are out in the field. Plus they pick up on wind, crickets, walking through brush, and other sounds like that. But these are ideal for duck hunts, dove hunts or any place wear you are doing a lot of shooting.
For the price I expected much better performance. I have hearing enhancing, loud noise dampening muffs that I wanted to get away from. I'm going to have to stick with the muffs though. These are on the way back.
