Laser Larva

One of the most effective blood midge nymphs you will find.

Created to match a hatching blood midge on the South Platte, the Laser Larva has proven its worth on a variety of tailwaters across the country. Creator Tucker Bamford field-tested the pupa pattern one cold winter's day on the South Platte, bringing in 20 or so fish in less than 2 hours. A strong midge to keep in the box for any season, the Laser Larva really shines during the winter months.
Size 20.

Colorado native Tucker Bamford began his fly fishing career on the backcountry lakes and streams of his home state. He eventually transitioned to tailwater fisheries, and these days you may find him on any manner of water. His fly-tying focus is on "guide flies" - flies that do not require much time at the vise, but are effective at fooling large, wary trout.

    Good nymph 'attractor' - 2/1/2015

Works great as a midge nymph and as an 'attractor' nymph used with another trailing midge nymph. The 'attractor' is due to the reflective nature of this fly. Using a dry on top, have also sight caught fish with this when other 'hatch' flies failed.
