Worthington, Ohio Fishing Manager: Neil Neidhardt
Neil Neidhardt is a local guy who was introduced to flyfishing on the Scioto River north of Dublin, where he grew up. He has since moved a few miles upstream, but still considers the rivers, ponds, and creeks of the Scioto and Olentangy watershed to be his home water. While much of his time spent on the water (fishing, guiding, and instructing) has focused on regional species, Neil has fished throughout the U.S., the Bahamas, Canada, and the U.K. Talk with Neil about waxed cotton coats, bamboo rods, side-by-side shotguns, the classic literature of “fishing with an angle,” the instructional experiences provided by the common carp, and the joys and challenges of teaching kids to enjoy flyfishing. (Also, be sure to ask him about the store’s collaboration with Mad River Outfitters; he was on the staff there for years). Neil is really glad to be part of the first Orvis store in Central Ohio.
