Yellowstone River Description

THE LEHARDY RAPIDS TO MUD VOLCANO AREA OF THE UPPER YELLOWSTONE RIVER. CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. PRAY FOR MORE SNOW INSIDE YNP THIS WINTER. OUR WILD TROUT COULD USE SOME LOVE....... JUST SAYIN' !! The season begins the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend (usually the last weekend in May) and extends through the first Sunday in November.

Techniques & Tips

The trout are eating a plethora of flies - dries, emergers, soft hackles, bead head nymphs use imitations of the flies listed above. Streamers are also working. Black and olive seem to be the better colors for streamers.
