Fly fishing hatches in order of importance:

Fishing is about as good as it gets on Crowley, the only downside, as is common in July, the best fishing is localized in McGee Bay. Deep water midging will be most productive outside the weed beds in McGee Bay. Look for fish in 20 feet of water or more. Hilton had about a week of stardom but has slowed considerably. The damsel and callibaetis emergence has picked up and the perch fry are now eating size, several anglers have caught large fish that have coughed up 20-30 perch fry at a time. There are fish showing inconsistently all around the lake so with a little exploring you might find the next hot spot and have it to yourself for a while.

Fish species:

Fishing season: APRIL 28 - NOV 15

Nearest airport: MAMMOTH - YOSEMITE (MMH)
