Downeast Lakes, Maine Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
We are in summer mode but waters are high and relatively cool. Fish the drops and weed beds. Structure in deeper water and points of land and islands for good smallmouth. They are feeding heavily on juvenile alewives, so small streamer patters on a sink tip are a good idea.

Techniques & Tips

Trolling for salmon and lake trout. Warm lakes, points, rock piles and structure. Fish are hungry. Poppers and top water has been working well this week on all lakes early and late. Deeper waters mid-day. Alewives are abundant and fish are targeting schools of them in 2-10 feet of water.

7-Day Forecast

Warmer temps will keep the fish moving to deeper water
