Jersey Shore - Sandy Hook to Island Beach State Park, New Jersey Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
Third week of May and Spring and the fish are here. Get out and give it a go. On foot the bays and rivers are producing more than out front but smaller fish are hitting the beach. Best bet is the boat but getting them to take flies can be tough.

Jersey Shore Description

Stretching from the Manasquan Inlet north along the Monmouth County coastline and around Sandy Hook into the Raritan Bay. Here fly anglers can experience great fishing either off the groins and beaches into the Altlantic Ocean or along the inlets into large rivers or the flats and sod banks of the back bays. It's a challenging fishery and success depends on the anglers knowledge on the location of the fish ...

Techniques & Tips

Match the hatch, think bigger flies that match the bunker hatch. Remember to have wire if the bluefish show up.

7-Day Forecast

Warmer weather means better fishing. Fish are in the bays and rivers and looking to eat before the spawn. Bluefish have started to show up in the bays and rivers. Tides should get better coming off the moon, but its showing low at sunup. I like the outgoing first light fishing/.
