Wisconsin River - Lower, Wisconsin Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
People are catching walleye and sauger below the dam. The water is high and the current is swift. A boat is necessary. Bass and game fishing will be only getting better in the weeks to come. For now I would stick to trout fishing until water comes down and fish start getting more active.

Techniques & Tips

Smallmouth bass can be targeted using a variety of flies, white being the most popular color choice: 3M Minnows, Murdich Minnows, Barteux Minnows, Boogle Bugs, Crease Flies, and Clousers. Pike can be targeted using larger streamers in colors black, orange, pink and white, including: Jared's Outlaw, Drunk and Disorderly, Chuck-and-Ducks, Montauk Monsters, and Pike Bunnies. Musky season is now closed throughout the state. The season reopens in May.
