Water flow: 257 CFS below Abiquiu 245 CFS below El Vado, 32 at La Puente

Visibility: 36 inches

Water temperature at mid-day: 45 Degrees F

Water condition: Stained

Best time of day to fish: Mid-day through late afternoon

Best stretch: El Vado spring thru fall, Abiquiu fall thru early spring, La Puente Late June- August

Best access point: Below Abiquiu Dam and below El Vado Dam

Stoneflies (freestone section) Baetis Craneflies Caddis Midges BWO's

Fish species: Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Rio Grande Cutthroat

Fishing season: Year Round

Using double nymph rigs and streamers below both of the tailwater sections.

7-Day Forecast

The Freestone section is pretty low. Fishing has dropped off on that section. Abiquiu has been fishing well. El Vado has been fishing ok.
