The rivers and streams in and around Baxter State Park and the North Maine Woods offer a variety of opportunities for Native Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon. Rich in history and flush with brook trout, Webster and Telos were instrumental to Maine's logging industry at the turn of the century. Techniques & Tips

Look for riffles, rapids, and deeper areas, or fish larger dam fed rivers where fish are still present. Nymphing deeper runs is a must, unless you can catch a hatch in the early morning or late evening. Avoid fishing rivers where temps hover around 70 degrees, and keep all fish in the water when releasing to avoid unnecessary stress.
