Great hook
Are use this hook in a size 4 for tying steelhead nymphs. It’s hard to find a hook with this profile in such a large size. The hook is sturdy enough for the bruisers that I am chasing, and the bend lends well to a natural looking bug. Matches perfectly with a 7/32 bead for jumbo stoneflies Copper Johns.

Great hook for Crayfish patterns
I tie a crayfish pattern called the "Sixth Man" with this hook in a size 4. The hook is very strong and holds well on hooked fish.

Great hook
Bead or no bead, these hooks are great for nymphs and even wet flies in the smaller sizes. The longer curved shank gives the fly a more natural look in my opinion. So far these hooks have proven themselves strong and sharp.

I love using this style of hook for my nymphs and smaller stone flys. I like to use a size 14. Orvis item # 8A03. It's a great hook for steelhead up in Erie.
