The Story

The Orvis PRO Wader is built for the professional angler whether by trade or simply by passion who will go to whatever extreme necessary to find fish. Built with an athletic fit, the PRO Wader uses an extremely durable proprietary 4-layer Cordura® fabric shell in the upper and 5-layer Cordura fabric shell in the lower legs for the best in class abrasion and puncture resistance. Low profile seam construction and a gusseted crotch enhance movement and seam strength. Modern anatomically correct neoprene booties have less bulk with a true “sock” feel and are more comfortable inside wading boots, while the streamlined PU reinforced mesh gravel guard covers the boot tightly and completely eliminates drag and water collection.Convenience features include an external storage pocket with YKK AquaGuard® water-resistant zipper to keep essentials dry and prevents loss. Rubberized tabs on suspenders and front pocket daisy chain for tool docking, offer multiple locations for essentials and eliminate chance of puncturing waders or losing tools. Fly patch on front pocket for quick changes and drying. Large four-way stretch power mesh interior pocket expands to fit larger items yet stays out of the way when empty. Kangaroo-style fleece-lined handwarmer pockets with YKK AquaGuard water-resistant zippers. Removable OrthoLite® knee pads use the same technology found in our PRO Boot insole for optimal comfort and rebound. Removable accessory pocket allows for quick access to gear and offers the features of a small pack. Adjustable elastic suspenders with opposing buckles for waist-high conversion. Interior hook-and-loop patch accommodates our Orvis waterproof pocket (8G3H sold separately). Wader weighs approximately 48 oz. in (medium regular).

100% nylon shell with polyurethane membrane. 100% nylon tricot liner. Imported.

14 sizes S-XXL including short and long sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mind the Fit - Then They're Great! These are my 3rd pair of Orvis waders. I'm getting a lot of fishing days in and I'm tough on waders but these are lasting a long time. The Orvis Pro waders are built a little different than many other waders. To get the right fit, check the sizing charts: Get the small/medium/large that you always do but pay close attention to the short/regular/long. If your inseam is close to the top of the range - GO UP. I wore a regular length in my Orvis Clearwater waders, but I wear a Long in my Orvis Pro waders. If you feel like there's not enough material when you bend over or step up high, it's one of two things: If you're close on the inseam then your waders are probably too short - work with Orvis to get the right size (They have awesome customer service). If you're not close on the inseam then the waders just need to break in a bit - remember, these are 4 and 5 layers and a bit stiff to start out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect I bought these after my G3's ripped at the seam and I really like them but I hate the straps over the sholder. They do not have enough adjustability and the single strap in the back pulls them up in the wrong spot if you know what I mean. That being said they are really tough, warm, and i love the knee pads! Overall I would buy again. I use them fishing for GL "Steelhead".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid fit and features I am the kind of person that when I get into something, I go all in. Fishing is one of those things. I just started this past year, and but an overwhelming amount of equipment of increasing expense; but the reason things get expensive is a great reputation for quality, so why not get the best if you can. Because of my interest in fishing, I thought I would give fly fishing a try. It is said to be relaxing, and baseball legend Ted Williams is known to have become a professional level fly fisherman (did he do anything at which he wasn't any good?). I was told by an employee at a separate fly fishing store that when buying equipment, focus on the rod, the line, and waders, and my understanding is that waders are in short supply at the moment, particularly in my size (2X)--supply line issues due to pandemic. In fact, I am still over the suggested weight for the 2X size waders, but I got into the waders comfortably at the Orvis store. I have a tendency to be rough on things, so I got something that I knew would be durable, particularly in the knees, and had features like hand warming pockets, and ways to store your gear. I actually got into the water on the first day of spring (in Minnesota). No fish, but this was just a test run. Solid construction, no leaks. The near $600 price tag will drop your chin, and I know that I was foolish in making such a purchase since I haven't even tried fly fishing yet...but again, I do tend to go all in. I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend because if something goes wrong, they blame you, but that is not a poor reflection on this product. I also went all in on line, but not the rod...I guess I had to draw the line somewhere.
