A Message to Our Customers

To our Orvis Family,

We’ve been thinking a lot about the holidays--the traditions we all enjoy, the gifts we give, and in 2020, the health and safety of all of those who make up the Orvis family during such a meaningful moment in people’s lives.

When my brother, Charley, and I were kids, our parents would give us each a special gift during the holidays. Our dad loved to wrap it in special paper along with a feather and a wax seal. We always knew that unique wrapping meant there was something really meaningful inside. These are such cherished memories that we’ve continued the tradition and hope generations to come will share that sense of wonder and joy.

For many of us, the holidays will be different this year, as we may find ourselves away from those whom we might normally host or visit. We will be looking for ways to carry on all the special traditions, including gift giving, which will inevitably carry unique meaning for those who have to spend the 2020 holidays apart.

The health and safety of our customers, partners, and employees continues to be our top priority. We remain committed to being your trusted guide in every safe and responsible way this holiday season. And so we wanted to make you aware of some unique situations facing the retail world this November and December.

Like many other companies, we are taking extra precautions at our fulfillment center. Additionally, shipping companies have indicated that they will be under unprecedented pressure during these months.Therefore, there is a chance of delays in package delivery, so we recommend that you shop early with us or with any brand this holiday season. Earlier shopping will help us maintain the healthy environment we demand for our associates while ensuring that your gift arrives on time.

We hope you and yours are able to connect in special ways over the next few months, whether that is through adventures outside, safe gatherings inside around the dining table, or sharing stories over video calls. And when it comes to gift-giving, early holiday shopping has always been a good idea. This year it’s the best idea to keep people safe and to make sure your meaningful gifts get to the greatest people in your life.
