365 days a year!
Rods & reels, leaders, flies, fishing licenses, ice, and water.
Capt. Jeremy Mehlhaff operates out of Charleston, South Carolina and covers its surrounding areas.
We fish out of a 18 hells bay skiff. Days consist of 4,6, or 8 hour trips. Meeting times vary due to the large tidal fluctuation on our area. Most trips are geared towards targeting redfish in shallow water. There are several boat ramps that we fish from, which is something we can discuss prior to the trip.
We spend a lot of time chasing redfish in the shallows, but if conditions allow, we can target some other species such as Spanish mackerel, amberjacks, and cobia.
We recommend customers bring sunscreen, hat, polarized glasses, clothing appropriate for time of year, camera, shoes with non-marking soles, rain gear, any extra drinks or food outside, and most importantly a good attitude!
Q. Where should we book a hotel in relation to where we are fishing?
A. Usually I recommend downtown Charleston because most boat ramps we will fish from are within a 20-minute drive from downtown, making that a central location. Downtown has a lot to offer, another reason I highly recommend it.
Q. What time do you meet in the mornings?
A. Depends on the tide every day is different some days we meet in the afternoon.
Q. Do you provide flies?
A. Yes, we do.
Q. When is the best time of the year for fishing?
A. October - January.
