Join Orvis for an all-inclusive group fly-fishing trip and culture tour in Spain: Cast on the blue-ribbon wild trout waters of the Pyrenees. Enjoy personalized attention from experienced fly-fishing guides, and traditional all-inclusive accommodations at Aren Lodge and Spa. The eastern Pyrenees fishing area covers the eastern portion of the province of Huesca in Aragon, the provinces of Lleida and Girona in Catalonia, and the small independent country of Andorra, offering a wide range of fly-fishing waters.

The highlight of this package is fly fishing the lower reaches, combined with some excellent opportunities for trout in the high mountain waters of the valleys near the Aren Lodge. Fly-fishing opportunities are many and varied.

The weather is usually comfortable, but some days within the week the weather can be far from perfect, especially at the beginning or end of the season. It is very rare to have an entire week of uncomfortable weather. The angler can opt for fishing for above-average-size brown trout and rainbows in the lower stretches.

Many of the places available to fishing guests are catalogued by UNESCO as Protected Natural Areas and are rarely fished.

It is a unique and authentic destination in the relatively unknown Pyrenees Mountains. The menu features local cuisine and wines that will surprise and delight even the most discerning traveler. Traditional dishes are enhanced by a preference for organic produce, and everything is made fresh and with a Spanish flare. The lodge is located centrally, creating easy access for guests to cover a large variety of waters with great fishing.

Fishing Activities

Region/Terrain

Verdant green valleys, high altitude wildflower meadows and the majestic Pyrenees mountains provide a spectacular backdrop to great trout fishing in Northern Spain. Ivan Tarin and his team of guides at Salvelinus are very well recognized for their hard work and knowledge. With over 200 miles of mountain terrain, you'll have opportunities to catch native Mediterranean zebra trout, barbel fish, brown, rainbow, and brook trout in streams and lakes that can only be accessed with special permission - including several protected natural areas that are recognized as UNESCO Biosphere Reserves. The wide varieties of water see little pressure and are home to trout that do not see a lot of flies. For the purist, the dry-fly fishing is exceptional!
