Western mountains of New Sharon Maine. Logging roads. Apple orchards with and alder runs. Different terrain to accommodate each individual client. Terrain hunted can be chosen by client, to ensure a safe comfortable hunt.
Typically the first half of October can reach 70 degrees at times. Most of the weather is between 45 degrees and 65 degrees in October. New England can vary with showers. November and December becomes colder, getting as low as 35 degrees. December can be cold as well with light snow at times.
Ruffed Grouse - October 1 - December 31.
Woodcock - October 1 - November 15.
All clients will be served a light breakfast and hearty lunch. Transportation, cleaning and packaging of birds and pictures/videos of hunt, if requested. Over/under & side/side shotguns are available with ammunition if needed. Plus every client will leave with a pint of Maine made maple syrup.
We'll start hunting at around 8:00. First client(s) will meet guide(s) and review the day(s) itinerary. We'll also review topo maps of the areas we would encounter, and give them options on what terrain they'd want to pursue. Gun safety and review is a must! We can hunt two dogs at a time, or one. After we have hunted 2 or 3 covers in the morning, we'll break for lunch, and sit outside by the fire and have a hearty lunch served in our traditional New England sap house. After lunch we can hunt several different covers at the clients leisure.

Wet and cold weather gear and at least 2 articles of hunter orange. Hunter orange vests & hats available if needed. A valid Maine state hunting license, which can be obtained online.

What kind of meals are served?
Light breakfast, consisting of coffee and juice with a variety of muffins and donuts. Lunch is a hearty meal. Examples of meals: ribeye steaks, baked potato, fresh rolls and a salad, with a New England desert such as maple syrup flavored whoopee pies. Beef stews are also popular among clients.
