Mick J. Lovett is the owner and operator of Marble canyon Outfitters. He has grown up in the Lee's Ferry area and at the age of ten new that he wanted to be a fishing guide on the Ferry. At age thirty two was able to make this dream come true, and has been a full time guide on Lee's Ferry ever since. Mick feels that his best attributes as a guide are teaching fly casting and fly fishing techniques to anglers of all ages and levels of fly fishing experience. He invites you to come share in one of the most scenic river canyons the U.S. has to offer. Come take part in some of the best fly fishing, and pursue some of the most beautiful and wild rainbow trout the southwest has to offer.

What is Provided to Customer

Our rates include boat, guide, fuel, lunches, bottled water and 8 hours on the water. Flies can be purchased at the Marble Canyon Lodge, however our guides carry a full supply of currently producing patterns and clients only pay for flies that are lost or destroyed through use.

Tailwater fishery, 15.5 miles of the Colorado River below Glen Canyon Dam (Lake Powell) known as Lee's Ferry.

Average spring temps range from 40-70 degrees, summer averages range from 70-110 degrees, fall averages range from 40-70 degrees, and winter averages range from 20-60 degrees.


Sample of Typical Itinerary

Each trip will start from the Lee’s Ferry dock. Heading up river from there, fully covered boats allow for a comfortable ride up. The 15.5 miles of the Colorado river allows for a multitude of different techniques and locations to be utilized at Lee’s Ferry. Mainly a nymphing river, but dry-dropper, single big terrestrial dry fly (summer), and streamers can all be used to target the wild rainbows.

What Should Customers Bring?

Polarized sunglasses, tippet (3x-6x), leaders (5x leaders of 9 feet), waders and boots, sunscreen, beverages and Arizona fishing license. Waders and boots may be rented through Marble Canyon Outfitters for $25 per day.
