In 1903, George "Stormy" Kromer, a semi-professional baseball player and railroad engineer, needed a hat that would not only keep his head warm, but also stay in place on windy days. Together with his wife Ida, they created this unique six-panel wool hat, which was quite the departure from the fedoras of the day. Soon, Kromer's co-workers and friends began asking for a hat of their own. In order to keep up with demand, Stormy and Ida eventually hired several employees, and a business was born. Wool shell/cotton lining. Dry clean only. Made in the USA.
