Typical Weather by Season:
Fall and Spring are prime time for lake run migratory fish. Fall is a beautiful time of the year with mid day temps holding in the 60's until November and even December. November and December can be colder but lake run browns and steelhead love the colder weather and colder water temps. Spring runoff begins around mid March and temps can still be in the 30's and 40's Dress accordingly and call prior a trip please. Winter fishing in January and February is only for the very hardcore steelhead and brown trout fisherman, temps can be below freezing in the morning but can get to fishable temps in the afternoon. Afternoon steelhead fishing can be great when the water warms up even a few degrees. Summer temps range from 60's at night and low to mid 80's during the day. Trout season kicks into high gear in Spring and summer. Dry fly fishing for trout can be fantastic with the hatches coming off as the water warms up. The terrestrial hatches start in late July and continue all the way to October. Hopper fishing can be great on hot summer days. Please call prior to booking a trip, even driving 150 miles North from Chicago the weather can be very different.
