What is your refund policy?
All merchandise purchased from Orvis has the Orvis 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. 100% customer satisfaction has been our commitment since 1856. It's who we are. If you aren't happy with a product or service, we want to know about it. And we'll make it right. THAT'S THE ORVIS WAY.
How are refunds issued?
We will issue a full refund in the form of the original method of payment, minus any shipping and/or return label fees as long as proof of purchase is provided, such as a store receipt or shipping order summary. Orvis Visa Rewards will be issued in the form of an Orvis Gift Card.
How long will it take to receive my refund?
Normally refunds are processed within 3-5 days from when we receive your merchandise. During the holiday season (December through February), refunds may take up to 7-14 days or more.
I want a refund but don't have receipt.
We will refund you the lowest price within the last 90 days in the form of an Orvis Gift Card.
Refunding back to my credit card
If you used a credit card to pay for your original order, then the refund will be issued to the same credit card you used for that order.
If you used a check to pay for your original order, or if you purchased the merchandise from an Orvis Retail Store and used cash, then you will receive a refund check in the mail. If you used a gift card to pay for your original order, then you will receive a gift card in exchange.
Why did I receive a gift card as a refund?
If you return your merchandise without the original proof of purchase and request a refund, then you'll receive an Orvis Gift Card in the amount of the lowest sale price of the merchandise returned. Be sure to include proof of purchase with your refund requests.
Why is my refund less than the original charge?
The original shipping and handling fees are not generally refunded. Also, if you used the Orvis Easy Return Label, then $6.95 is deducted from your refund.
Exchanging for another item
Call 888-235-7635 anytime and we’ll place your new order, charging to your credit card; but we’ll waive regular shipping charges. Then once we receive your return, we’ll credit you for the cost of the original item.
I don't want the buyer to know I returned item/gif
Complete the Orvis Return and Exchange Form, making sure to check the box at the top of the form entitled "I am returning a gift."
Can I return an item with a gift receipt?
Yes. Returns accompanied by a retail gift receipt are refunded in the form of an Orvis Gift Card.
Returning items that were on sale or clearance
Orvis will refund the original method of payment as long as proof of purchase is provided with the return. For more information about returning your merchandise, visit our Return Process Center.
Returning through independent dealer/partners
Returns should be made to the dealer or liquidation partner where the purchase originated. If you are unable to return the items to the place of purchase, refer to the above guidelines for returns with a receipt, returns without a receipt, or gift returns.
Can I return a gift card for refund?
