The Story

Two Rivers Fishing Company not only houses the largest selection of flies in the region but is also the go-to location for friendly, expert customer service. Our award-winning guides and the knowledgeable Two Rivers team make us the one-stop shop for fly-fishing in the Green River Valley. From local trips on the best back-country fishing the United States has to offer to our Orvis-endorsed guided fishing trips, Two Rivers Fishing Company is the proven authority on fly-fishing in western Wyoming.

Whether our clients fish the world-class cut banks of the Green and New Fork Rivers or our exclusive private access areas, our award-winning guides ensure an exceptional outing on the finest waters in the west. Our philosophy is simple: we believe in taking care of our fisheries and we believe in taking care of our clients. Our commitment to ethical excellence in both conservation and client care is why Two Rivers has been the time-tested fly-fishing authority in western Wyoming for over twenty years.

Our dedication and commitment to the protection and preservation of our fisheries sets Two Rivers Fishing Company apart. This passion for conservation has been a driving force in our business for over two decades and is why we have been able to successfully work with local landowners to gain exclusive access to a variety of private water throughout the region. We work hard to preserve private waters, protecting these healthy habitats and creating sustainable fisheries for years to come.

While the majority of our trips are full-day, we do offer half-day trips and can also customize trips to fit any itinerary. Large lunches and beverages, sure to please any palate, are provided. Whether you are floating, going on a wade trip, hitting up the backcountry alpine lakes, experiencing autumn with a Cast and Blast adventure or just starting out with a lesson, Two Rivers is the go-to for the Green River Valley for a reason-book with us for a truly memorable experience that will want you coming back for more.

What Should Customers Bring?

While we recommend our clients use their tried and true equipment whenever possible, we understand the hassles of flying or traveling with fly rods, so we do offer rental equipment (fly rods, reels, waders, boots) if needed. Our guides provide flies relevant to the area and the time of year. We recommend clients select a new leader for their equipment prior to departing for the day’s trip.

  • Fishing License (can be picked up in the shop)
  • Recommended rods and reels are 5- and 6-weight
  • Fresh leader for your fly line (our guides can help you select the appropriate leader.)
  • Waders for our wade trips - rarely needed for our guided float trips.
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Long-sleeved shirts and pants - for sun and bug protection
  • Rain jacket and rain pants
  • A warm layer, such as a fleece or insulated jacket
  • Sunglasses (polarized) for eye protection
  • Hat

Sample of Typical Itinerary

We are very flexible with our trips-contact us to discuss how we can make a custom trip work for you!

Species You Fish for by Season

The Green River and New Fork River valley is host to rainbow, brown, brook, cutthroat, lake, and golden trout all season.

Region/Terrain Where You Fish

We fish streams and lakes located in the Wind River Range and the Wyoming Range, including the famous headwaters of the Green River and the legendary Blue-Ribbon New Fork River, as well as a number of private waters for which we have exclusive access. Our backcountry fishing trips take place at some of the over 2,000 pristine alpine lakes in the Wind River Range. We also can run guided trips on Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge.

Typical Weather by Season

In the spring, expect cool nights in the low to mid 30s with fresh days in the mid 50s. Summer nights can range from the low 40s to mid 60s with daytime temperatures from mid 70s to mid 80s. With fall come cooler temperatures at night-low to mid 30s with milder daytime temps in the mid to upper 60s. Weather changes rapidly and without warning in the mountain west, so always be prepared for afternoon thundershowers at the very least. With inclement weather, the temperature also can drop significantly-bring warm layers too, just in case.
