What is Provided to Customer

Our trips are all-inclusive-guides provide flies, large lunches, snacks, beverages and transportation to and from the shop. Rental equipment (rods, reels, waders) is available.

Region/Terrain Where You Fish

We fish streams and lakes located in the Wind River Range and the Wyoming Range, including the famous headwaters of the Green River and the legendary Blue-Ribbon New Fork River, as well as a number of private waters for which we have exclusive access. Our backcountry fishing trips take place at some of the over 2,000 pristine alpine lakes in the Wind River Range. We also can run guided trips on Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge.

Typical Weather by Season

In the spring, expect cool nights in the low to mid 30s with fresh days in the mid 50s. Summer nights can range from the low 40s to mid 60s with daytime temperatures from mid 70s to mid 80s. With fall come cooler temperatures at night-low to mid 30s with milder daytime temps in the mid to upper 60s. Weather changes rapidly and without warning in the mountain west, so always be prepared for afternoon thundershowers at the very least. With inclement weather, the temperature also can drop significantly-bring warm layers too, just in case.

What's included?

A trip with Two Rivers Fishing Company will include a rod, reel and flies. Waders are available to rent. While we do encourage clients to use the equipment they own and know, rest assured that if there is equipment you need we've got you covered. Our guides provide large lunches, snacks and beverages for the day. Outside of the actual fishing equipment, here is what you should bring:

  • Hat
  • Fishing apparel (we recommend long-sleeved shirts and pants to protect from the sun)
  • Rain gear (even if it's sunny outside-trust us)
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • Fishing License (these can be picked up in the shop)
  • Fresh leader for your fly line.

Sample of Typical Itinerary

Our trips typically depart from the shop at 8 am and a full-day trip runs until around 4 pm. Half-day trips can run from 8-12 or from 12-4. Guides will transport clients to the launch sites (20-30 minutes). Schools and instruction time run from 2 hours to 3 days. We are very flexible with our trips-contact us to discuss how we can make a custom trip work for you!

Species You Fish for by Season

The Green River and New Fork River valley is host to rainbow, brown, brook, cutthroat, lake, and golden trout all season.

Our Fly Shop

Two Rivers Fishing Company not only houses the largest selection of flies in the region but is also the go-to location for friendly, expert customer service. Proudly offering premier equipment from top brands across the industry, from rods and reels to sunhats and clothing, our fly shop is equipped to fill any need. Our award-winning guides and the knowledgeable Two Rivers team make us the one-stop shop for fly-fishing in the Green River valley. From local tips on the best backcountry fishing the United States has to offer to our Orvis-endorsed guided fishing trips, Two Rivers Fishing Company is the proven authority on fly-fishing in western Wyoming.

What Should Customers Bring?

While we recommend our clients use their tried and true equipment whenever possible, we understand the hassles of flying or traveling with fly rods, so we do offer rental equipment (fly rods, reels, waders, boots) if needed. Our guides provide flies relevant to the area and the time of year. We recommend clients select a new leader for their equipment prior to departing for the day’s trip.

  • Recommended rods and reels are 5- and 6-weight. Line should have a new leader-our guides can help you select the appropriate leader.
  • Waders for our wade trips. They are rarely needed for our guided float trips.
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Long-sleeved shirts and pants (great for sun and bug protection)
  • Rain jacket and rain pants
  • A warm layer, such as a fleece or insulated jacket
  • Sunglasses (polarized) for eye protection
  • Hat
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best guides in the country I've had the opportunity to fish with multiple guides at two rivers. They know the water and what to use to catch fish. I can say that I had a triple 20 inch trout a couple of times. Meaning a Brown, Cutthroat and Rainbow on the same trip. Not many fishery can provide that possible opportunity. It is fishing and not catching so besides the fishing the area is outstanding for nature. Eagles, osprey, deer, elk, moose and antelope besides the Wind River Range to explore. What a location two rivers has to share with those that come

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of the West Eric at 2 Rivers guided my buddy and me down a section of the Green River a few days ago. We had been fishing in WY for a week and decided to try this river. Wow, what a great choice! 2 Rivers is a fantastic fly shop and the guides there are pros. The water they guide on is as good as anything I have fished in the US and Alberta. Being a guide for over 25 years, I have been blessed to fish some good stuff. My next trip out west will be back to Pinedale and 2 Rivers. There is plenty of water to explore with these guys,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great Trip This was our third time out with Mike Kaul and the rest of Two Rivers Emporium crew. Another great time in some new venues. Along with the fishing some terrific scenery. Mike and the guides that work with him are terrific. In our opinion they are the gold standard for guide services. Working with Mike in making all the arrangements for our stay is always a customer-friendly process. So whether its on the river, in the store, or sitting around visiting while having lunch. A top-flight fishing experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I had a group of friends who went backpacking in the Wind River Range. We stopped in Pinedale at Two Rivers for a day of instruction and fly fishing. I am not a fisherman and did not plan to enjoy it. It was an amazing day. Mike obviously is passionate about his sport. He attends to the details of the journey. Everything went very well. We had a great day. Even if you don't like to fish, it is a great experience learning the techniques and spending time in the store's fishing sites. I gotta say catching a rainbow trout made me a believer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best fishing experiences ever! My brother and I had been hiking the winds but decided to cut our trip short a day so on the way out, we decided to see if there were any last minute guide trips available. We called Two River's and Bill set us up the next day with Mike for a walk / wade trip. Since it was last minute, our expectations were pretty low so when we met Mike and discovered he'd been a guide since way before we were born, we got pretty excited. He took us out on one of their pieces of private water and just blew us away. It was not only superb fishing, but Mike was so amazing that even if the fishing had been super slow, the experience would have been beyond worth it. He's such a class act and far and away the most experienced guide I've ever been with. My brother and I will never forget that experience and we'll be back in a year or so to do it again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Day!! We had an amazing day learning to fly fish with Mike and Katie. It was the first time for our family of four (kids ages 9 and 12) to learn and Mike was very helpful and patient teaching us. We started at the park, which was the best way to learn before getting to the pond or river. They had all the equipment needed for the day at the shop including WY fishing licenses. All of the family caught fish and it was overall a perfect day. Two Rivers are the perfect outfitter, I highly recommend them!
