Fishing conditions: Clean water will be coming in with tide but only in spots not influenced by the high river.

Inshore temperature: 86 Degrees F

Offshore temperature: 87 Degrees F

Type of bait fish are feeding on: Mullet, rain minnows, pogeys, crabs, and shrimp

Fish species: Redfish, Speckled Sea Trout, Black Drum and Sheepshead

Fishing season: Year Round (Prime: September 1 - Feb 28)

Nearest airport: New Orleans International Airport (MSY)

Techniques & Tips

Summer is here. Look for fish back in the interior marsh to be coming back to the shallow grass ponds. If weather permits, head outside to the exterior marsh to find big reds and black drum may even find some Jacks!
