Miramichi River, New Brunswick, Canada Description

Main South West Miramichi River in McNamee. 45 miles from head of tide. This area of the river has many islands thus creating channels and more small pools. Many of the pools are two to four rod pools and are all wade friendly. Gravel bottom with average size stones in the 4 inch range.

Techniques & Tips

Floating line with 9 -10 foot leader ( 6 lb. tippet ) and flys # 6 or 8.

Atlantic salmon are settled in their holding pools for the summer. Water is low but decent conditions remain for many areas. All warm water pool restrictions have been lifted as of August 9th. Bomber season is here.
