Pit River - Northern California, California Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
The River is looking good! The evening caddis hatch is full force and PMDs and Baetis mayflies are coming off. Focus your fishing around the faster water. Fishing bigger streamers can also be very effective in the faster water. Be careful out there, however, with the high temperatures this summer, be sure to stay hydrated and cool. Your best chances of success will be early morning and late evening.

Probably the best river in the area now although you will have to deal with smoke from numerous nearby fires and the crazy traffic diverting around the I-5 closure.
