Pit River - Northern California, California Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
Pit 3 flows have been fluctuating between 400 and 470 CFS over the past week. On Pit 5 through Big Bend they are roughly 720 CFS. Fishing remains very good with Rubberlegs, Gordon's Amber Prince and Beadhead PT's all working well on fish throughout the system. Clarity is around two to three feet of visibility. We have seen the PMDs begin coming off, the next day with some good sun should see a big hatch along with some good chances at dry fly fishing. The Salmonfly hatch should begin in the next week or two, dry-dropper with a big, brown Chubby Chernobyl would be a good rig to throw.
