RIGS Fly Shops & Guide Service's Tip of the Week
Fishing conditions on theGunnison are shifting with the arrival of spring. Unpredictable weather and muddy waters are settled in, requiring anglers to prepare for various scenarios before venturing out. Despite these challenges, fishing above the Confluence has been great. BOWs are emerging through the day and fish are actively feeding on these insects, actively feeding edges and slower currents. However, it's important to note that the north fork of the North Fork of Gunnison is currently running high and murky. Crossing the current in this condition is not recommended, and fishing in this section is temporarily paused until the water clears up.
